‘Tokyo Sun’ is of genus Sedum in the Crassulaceae family, and their beautiful golden color in full light is a great choice for accenting the edges of pots. The original species is said to have rich green leaves, but this species is a yellowing horticultural species, so it will appear to be a reversion.

‘Tokyo Sun’ is one of the varieties that remind people of potted grass. The branches and leaves are miniature that are easy to burst. They form a long oval shape. The length is only about 0.4" (1 cm) and the width is 0.08” - 0.12" (0.2 - 0.3 cm). The leaf surface is flat or slightly convex that forms an arc-like convex with a front oblique tip. The whole plant is smooth and not covered with white frost. The plant needs sufficient light so that the leaves can remain golden yellow. If there is not enough light, then the leaves will be yellowish green.

Care Tips

Light: Tokyo Sun is particularly demanding of light. Providing good light not only helps its growth, but also affects the vibrancy of its color. Adequate light needs to be provided, however, it should be noted that strong light in summer must also be avoided.

Water: During its growth period, you need to keep the soil in the pot semi-wet to facilitate its growth. You can also wait until the potting soil is dry before watering thoroughly. However, watering needs to be controlled above 86°F (30 ℃) and below 41°F (5 ℃).

Soil: A good choice of suitable soil should be made. It does not require much soil, and loose, breathable and fertile sandy soil can be used to promote robust growth.

Potting: It is recommended to use ceramic pots. Ceramic pots have a certain degree of permeability. Clay pots lose water too quickly, plastic pots tend to retain water for too long and permeability is poor.

Temperature: Prefers warmth and can be between 64.4-77°F (18-25 ℃). In winter, to keep it safe, try to be able to be above 50°F (10 ℃). High temperatures are also bad for it, thus, it is best not to go above 86°F (30 ℃).

Humidity: Tokyo Sun grows well in average household humidity levels when grown indoors. Does not like too much humidity. Normal household humidity is good for this plant.

To ensure the health of succulents, it is important to plant them in porous, well-draining soil. Succulents require little watering, but don't like to sit in wet soil. To create an adequate cactus mix, simply add pumice, perlite, or grit to cactus soil to provide the proper drainage.

Make sure to leave drought periods between waterings to prevent the plant from water-logging.
