Christmas Cactus is a popular cactus in the Cactaceae family, and they are native to Brazil. They have green stem segments that are flat, and there are pink flowers that can grow at the tips of their stems. These plants are winter-flowering houseplants and are very simple to take care of. They are easy to propagate and can also survive a long time.

These plants are the perfect gift to give during the holidays.

Care Tips

Light:  It is a light-loving plant, but it’s best to avoid direct sunlight. Place plants in a well-lit location (such as near a window) away from direct sunlight, heaters, fireplaces or other sources of hot air. In the summer, please move houseplants to a shady location outdoors.

Water: They should be watered when the soil is dry, and the extra water should be allowed to flow out of the bottom of the pot.

Soil: It’s best to use soil that’s slightly acidic, but using soil that’s neutral is also fine.

Potting: It is recommended to use ceramic pots. Ceramic pots have a certain degree of permeability. Clay pots lose water too quickly, and plastic pots tend to retain water for too long and permeability is poor.

Temperature:  It grows at a temperature of about 68-77°F (20-25°C), and the dormant period temperature is about 59°F (15°C). In the winter, the temperature should not be lower than 50°F (10°C).

Humidity:  They need 50-60% humidity, so you may need to adjust the humidity of your house.

To ensure the health of succulents, it is important to plant them in porous, well-draining soil. Succulents require little watering, but don't like to sit in wet soil. To create an adequate cactus mix, simply add pumice, perlite, or grit to cactus soil to provide the proper drainage.

Make sure to leave drought periods between waterings to prevent the plant from water-logging.
